Learning Curves
As with every new chapter, there’s always something that befuddles the author. Especially when the new chapter entails an entirely new platform and the author is a technologically stunted individual.
Hello. I’m that individual.
So! I have entered the world of Patreon thinking I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a while now and a move wouldn’t be that hard to make. Yeah… Not quite as easy as I thought it would be. It’s not too terribly difficult for me to navigate, however it’s not as “plug and play” as I’m used to. The features on Patreon are easier to manage and maintain than here, so by this time next year, this blog will be no more and you can find me in the Parthenon of other creators. I’m in the process of getting things ported over, new content to be published, member tiers…God, there’s so much. And because my brain is probably overthinking ALL of it, I’m confusing myself within a few hours of navigating the ins and outs. I know this isn’t as difficult as I’m making it out to be, but that’s not helping my perfectionist tendencies. I’ve always flown by the seat of my pants when it comes to this kind of stuff, and if I’m being honest, it rarely goes well for me when I do; so this time around, I want to do this right. When I get to the brink of “FUCK IT ALL!” I step outside and ground, then go to YouTube to do some learning. YouTube University hasn’t let me down yet - well, not as much as my chickens have anyway. The fuckers got out two mornings ago and thought they’d promenade around the block strutting their stuff. I found the little assholes across the street meandering their way down the road. I fixed their little red wagons…I shrunk their pen. They are now literal jailbirds.
Anyhoo! My goal is to have the page published next week and have more available there within the next 3 months. If you didn’t get your copy of Royal Pitas two years ago, it will be available there - as soon as I figure out how to do that. I’ll also have Broken Romance available by mid-November and yet another book available in time for Christmas. As you can see, lots to do! For now though, it’s stopped raining and I think me and the dog need some fresh air.
So help me God, if those chickens got out again, I know exactly what I’m having for dinner…
